Con Can Do, you now have the option to create Forms and link the responses to a Basecamp project. You can choose between a to-do, a card, a message, or an event for the responses to be sent to.
To create one:
- Go to the Forms tab and click Create.
- Write the form title and an optional description.
- Click Add question. When you click it, you'll have the following options to add to your form:
- Short text: A single line
- Long text: A paragraph
- Email: An email address
- Number: A numeric answer
- Date: A calendar date
- Option Picker: Pick one option
- Multiple choice: Pick several options
- Click Continue.
- Choose the Basecamp project and where you want the responses to go (to a to-do, a card, a message, or an event), and select the specific list/column/message board/calendar.
- Click Create form.
Things to keep in mind:
- Questions that are exclusively text (short text, long text and email) have the option to add instructions. Click Add instructions and a text box will appear where you can add a hint or instructions for the question (and it's optional)
- All questions have a Required button which you can turn on or off depending on whether your question is mandatory or not.
- On the right side of the questions, you have the option to move the question wherever you want by selecting the 6 dots, or delete it by clicking delete.
- For the Option Picker question you can choose how you want the questions to appear in your form: Dropdown or List. Click the one you prefer.
Note: If you leave the title blank, Can Do will call it "Untitled form". You can always change it later.
If there's no tool in the project:
If the project doesn't have one of the tools created yet where you want the Forms information to go, Can Do will give you the option to create one right there, for example:
- When you click Continue, it will take you to select the project where your form will be.
- In What to create, select the Basecamp tool you're going to use for the Form information to arrive (to-do, card, message or event). If you haven't created the one you chose in Basecamp, write a name for your tool and click Create. This will be created directly in your Basecamp project without you having to leave Can Do.
Once you create it, you'll go to the settings page with a public link already generated. To be able to publish it, you need to have chosen where the responses will go and have at least one question. See Publishing and pausing your Form.
