In Basecamp nothing is ever truly deleted: it's archived, and you can always recover it. Companion respects that. When you send a file or folder to Trash from Finder, Companion archives it in Basecamp instead of destroying it.
Delete = archive
- Drag the file or folder to Trash (or right-click Move to Trash).
- It disappears from your Finder and gets archived in Basecamp.
If you delete a folder, the entire folder with its contents is archived. Nothing is lost: everything is recoverable from Basecamp.
Recover with Put Back
- Open the macOS Trash.
- Right-click the file or folder and select Put Back.
It returns to its folder in Companion and gets unarchived in Basecamp. The reappearance may take a few seconds while Companion re-syncs.
Recover from Basecamp
You can also unarchive anything directly in Basecamp web, from the project archive. This is the best option if you've already emptied your Mac's Trash.
Note: "Put Back" works for what you deleted with a recent version of Companion. If something doesn't come back, unarchive it from Basecamp web.
