Companion for Basecamp is a native macOS app that puts your Docs & Files from Basecamp directly in Finder, just like Dropbox or iCloud Drive. You don't copy anything or maintain a second location: your projects appear as folders, your files as files, and everything that happens in Basecamp is reflected here. It also includes a Launcher to search and act in seconds without leaving the keyboard, and a menu bar icon that shows you the status at a glance.
Your files, in Finder
Each Basecamp project you choose becomes a folder in Finder. Files appear as "in the cloud": they take up zero space until you open them, and then Companion downloads them automatically. You drag a file into it and it uploads to Basecamp; you send it to Trash and it gets archived (it never actually gets deleted, you can recover it).
Everything keeps living in Basecamp
Companion isn't another place to store things, it's a window to what you already have. You upload, rename, or delete from Finder and the change happens in Basecamp; someone else changes something in Basecamp and it appears in your Finder. There are never two copies to keep in sync manually.
Much more than files
From the Launcher you create to-dos and cards in Basecamp, search for people on your team, see your calendar, and use a bunch of productivity tools (clipboard, emojis, calculator, window management, and more), all without opening the browser.
Who can use it
Companion connects with your Can Do account, which in turn has access to your Basecamp accounts. You see exactly the projects you already have access to in Basecamp, with the same permissions.
