    Install Companion for Basecamp

Getting Companion up and running takes a few minutes: download the app, sign in with Can Do, give macOS permission to show your files in Finder, and choose your projects. It's a one-time setup; after that, everything is ready to go.

    Download and install

    • Download Companion from the link we shared with you (.dmg file).
    • Open the .dmg and drag Companion for Basecamp to your Applications folder.
    • Open the app from Applications. The first time, macOS will ask if you're sure you want to open an app downloaded from the internet: click Open.

    Requirements

    • A Mac with a recent version of macOS.
    • A Can Do account with access to your Basecamp projects.

    What's next

When you open it for the first time, Companion walks you through each step: sign in, enable the Finder extension, and choose your projects. Each one has its own article here.

Note: if you already had a previous version, drag it to Applications and replace it. From then on, Companion updates itself (see "Keep Companion up to date").
