How to Archive Projects (Archive > Projects)

The Projects tool in Can Do lets you archive one or multiple Basecamp projects at once, without having to enter each one and archive it manually.

This tool requires that you be an admin or owner in Basecamp.

You can view the list of projects in any way, but only an admin or owner can complete the archiving.

How to do it from Can Do:

    • Go to the Tools tab, then select Projects within Archive.
    • You'll see all your Basecamp projects, sortable by Inactive first (the default order), Newest firstOldest first, or Alphabetically (A-Z).
    • Projects with no activity in 90+ days show a summary warning at the top, and each one individually displays a small tag with its exact number of inactive days.
    • Click Archive on the project you want to archive. You'll have 5 seconds to undo it; click the button again during that countdown to cancel before anything is sent to Basecamp.

    Keep this in mind:

    • Archiving is not deleting. Archived projects are safely stored in Basecamp and can be unarchived at any time directly from Basecamp.
    • All content within the project (messages, to-dos, documents, etc.) is preserved exactly as it was; nothing is deleted, everything stays the same.
