How to Transfer Cards with Transfer Cards

Transfer Cards lets you move a set of cards from one column to another, within the same Card Table, or to a completely different one within the same project in a single action. Without dragging and dropping card by card.

How to do it from Can Do:

    • Go to the Tools tab, then select Transfer Cards.
    • Find your project: Choose the project with the Card Table you're working from.
    • Pick the source card table: Select the Card Table where you have the cards you're going to transfer. All Card Tables in the project will appear there.
    • Pick the source column: Select where the cards you want to move are located, for example Triage
    • Select cards to transfer: Choose all by clicking Select All or just some by clicking the box on the left side. You can also sort them by Newest first, Oldest first, or Alphabetically (A-Z) if you have many and can't find the one you need.
    • Pick the destination card table: Here you must select the destination Card Table, it can be the same one you started from, or a different Card Table in the same project.
    • Pick the destination column: Select where the cards should end up, for example In Progress.
    • Click Transfer.

Note: If the selected project doesn't have a Card Table, Can Do will notify you. In that case, you'll have the option to click Open in Basecamp, which will open your project directly so you can add the Card Table.

    Keep this in mind:

    • Cards retain all their information, such as title, assignee, dates, and notes after being transferred. They don't lose any data within them.
    • Only the cards you selected leave the source column; what you didn't select stays where it was.
    • Can Do doesn't prevent you from choosing the same column as both source and destination, so check your selection carefully before confirming, because there's no warning if you do this.
