Speed Dial is your own list of shortcuts, access a link, file, folder, or application from anywhere with a single keystroke.
Create one
- Go to Settings → Speed Dials (or use New Speed Dial from the Launcher)
- Give it a short name and a destination.
Speed Dials are not just web links
- The Destination field also accepts file and folder paths (~/Projects, /Users/you/Documents) and app deeplinks (slack://, spotify:, obsidian://).
- Use the folder button to select a file or folder directly, or the {} button to see the placeholders you can use.
Choose which app opens it
In settings, under Speed Dial, you can select where you want it to open. You'll have several options in a dropdown menu: System Default, Basecamp Desktop App, or Default Browser. Below that you'll see all the browsers you currently have on your Mac and can choose whichever you prefer.
Explore and manage
Explore Speed Dials shows everything you've saved. You can also promote a Door directly to a Speed Dial, see "Doors" and it remains linked to the original.

Note: add a placeholder to a Speed Dial's destination and a shortcut becomes a mini search on its own.
